Britons Are Europe's Top Online Spenders
British shoppers splashed almost a third of the cash spent on the internet in Europe last year, making them comfortably the continent's top online spenders.

Online sales in UK defied the recession with double-digit growth last year.
Consumers in the UK spent an estimated £38bn online in 2009, accounting for 30% of total European internet sales, according to price comparison site Kelkoo.
Germany and France occupied the second and third positions, with the trio of West European nations together making up 70% of the market.
The average individual online spend by Britons was £1,102, while UK shoppers also bought the highest number of items over the internet, at an average of £37 each.

Broadband Tax 'To Be Made Law'
A controversial broadband tax "will be law before the next election", according to Minister for Digital Britain Stephen Timms.
The 50 pence a month tax applies to everyone with a fixed line telephone.
Speaking at a debate in London, Mr Timms said the tax will be presented to parliament as part of the Finance Bill.
Business Failures Fall to Year's Low
While the figures, compiled by the information services firm Experian, show that insolvencies are increasing year-on-year, they fell by 23% in August compared with July.
The pace of business failures slowed in August to its lowest level for almost a year, providing another sign that the worst of the recession may be over, but there remain significant geographical variations with the north-east of England particularly badly hit.
